RECORDED JULY 28, 2023 (120 Minutes)
You can even learn how to apply it in your anxiety recovery journey!
Acceptance of anxiety, fear and uncertainty is an important, yet confusing concept in anxiety recovery. If you're struggling to get your head around the idea that you have to accept this thing you hate and fear, we see you. Being unsure of what acceptance means and how do "do it" is very common. You're not alone!
Acceptance Explained is a workshop by Drew Linsalata and Kimberley Quinlan, LMFT that explains the what acceptance is in the context of anxiety recovery, what it looks like, and why it's necessary. In this workshop, you'll learn:
- What acceptance means in anxiety recovery.
- Other ways to describe it that you can use that might make more sense to you.
- Why you have to learn how to accept and stop resisting.
- Why acceptance is so damn hard to do!
- The most common mis-steps people make when trying to reach a point of acceptance.
- What acceptance is NOT.
- What we learn when we work on accepting rather than resisting.
- How acceptance moves us toward recovery, even when it sounds like it would do exactly the opposite.
