The Anxious Truth/Approaching Anxiety Courageously

Imagine Seeing Yourself As Courageous?

(Even when you can't seem to feel courageous right now)

At some point in the process of overcoming an anxiety disorder, courage has to enter the picture. We have to do intentionally difficult and scary (but not dangerous) things in order to get better, but seeing ourselves as brave and feeling courageous can be challenging!  If you're stuck because you feel like you're too afraid, not courageous, and don't know what to do, "Approaching Anxiety Courageously" might be just what you need to jump start your progress.

I WANT TO BE COURAGEOUS, BUT I CAN'T SEEM TO FEEL BRAVE!

This is a struggle for many trying to overcome anxiety problems like panic disorder or OCD. You know you have to be brave to fully engage in the recovery process, but you're afraid, and you just don't feel brave at all!

Approaching Anxiety Courageously is a two-hour video course that addresses this common issue. Drew and Jenna address:

  • Common myths and misconceptions about courage and bravery. Fear is not failure!
  • Confidence vs courage
  • Building a courageous feeling over time
  • Common objections about courage that we hear regularly
  • The OCD/Anxiety/Panic Cycle and how courageous action is the key to breaking the cycle.
  • The real nature of your fear (it's not just in your head)
  • The pivot points for a courageous approach
  • Connecting to WHY you should be courageous
  • What do to when you feel like things are too challenging, too uncertain, or feel too "risky"
  • Making choices based on values rather than fear
  • How courage connects to common treatments for anxiety and OCD

Approaching Anxiety Courageously is based on a research-supported cognitive behavioral approach to anxiety disorders.  The course was created by Drew Linsalata, graduate student in clinical mental health counseling and therapist-in-training, along with Jenna Overbaugh, LPC, practicing therapist specializing in the treatment of anxiety and OCD.

This course is not therapy nor a substitute for therapy.  This is psychoeducational content designed to inform, not to diagnose or treat. Attending the workshop does not create or imply a therapist-client relationship between us.  As always, you must advocate for yourself at all times and when in doubt consult qualified in-person medical or mental health professionals.

Who Is This Course For?

Approaching Anxiety Courageously is for anyone struggling with recovery from an anxiety problem like panic disorder, agoraphobia, OCD, health anxiety, or social anxiety.  If you're know that you have to do difficult, scary (but not dangerous) things to get better but you can't seem to feel courageous enough to do them, this course is for you.
