If you're struggling with panic disorder, agoraphobia, OCD, or health anxiety, you've probably heard about exposure therapy. Maybe someone told you it's the "gold standard" treatment. Maybe you've read that it's incredibly effective.
And maybe you're also terrified of it. Or confused by it. Or stuck trying to use exposure to move forward.
This webinar is two hours with an anxiety specialist designed to help you understand and apply the principles of exposure. Let's clear up some misconceptions, shatter some myths, help you with realistic expectations, and give you some info on exposure you can use in a practical way.

Learn what exposure is, what it isn't, how it works, and why you might be stuck
Get educated and well informed on how exposure might work for you
Exposure involves gradually and intentionally approaching situations, thoughts, or sensations that trigger anxiety - not to eliminate fear, but to learn that you can experience difficult feelings without being in actual danger. The goal isn't to control or prevent anxiety, but to develop psychological flexibility - the ability to be present with uncomfortable internal experiences while still moving toward what matters to you. Through repeated, planned contact with feared situations, people often discover that their anxiety naturally shifts and that they're more capable of handling discomfort than they initially believed. Facing your fear - deciding to be triggered on purpose to learn from that experience - is not about just "pushing through". It's about opening up to your own experiences, learning from your experiences, and expanding your life rather than shrinking it.
Many anxious people struggling to get better often wind up confused when it comes to exposure. This is especially true if your primary source of information about "facing fear" is the endless scroll of social media platforms. Confusion, misinformation, myths, and misconceptions about exposure are all common. This can lead to frustration and the fear that even this gold standard concept won't work for you. Sound familar? That's OK. I promise, it's not just you that's feeling confused, frustrated, or lost when it comes to exposure.
EXPOSURE EXPLAINED takes the mystery out of exposure and how it works in anxiety recovery. We'll look at what exposure therapy actually is - and what it isn't. I'll break down the theory and core principles in clear, practical terms and help you understand why this approach can be so helpful for anxiety recovery.
We'll explore:
The theory and research driving exposure and exposure therapy.
The real purpose of exposure work (hint: it's not about eliminating fear)
Common misconceptions that make exposure seem scarier than it needs to be and more complicated than it really is
How exposure fits into modern, evidence-based treatment approaches like ACT and mindfulness-based therapies
Why the goal isn't to control your anxiety - and what the actual goal is instead
Why thought-driven anxiety is not different - and how we can use principles of exposures here too
Practical guidelines and frameworks that might help you begin to move forward in your recovery journey
Sample exposure concepts for various anxiety disorders

This workshop is not therapy nor a substitute for therapy. This is psychoeducational content designed to inform, not to diagnose or treat. Attending the workshop does not create or imply a therapist-client relationship between us. As always, you must advocate for yourself at all times and when in doubt consult qualified in-person medical or mental health professionals.
Exposure Explained is for anyone struggling with chronic or disordered anxiety that wants to learn more about how to use exposure and exposure therapy in the recovery process. The workshop is specifically designed to clear up confusion about exposure, explain the theory behind it, and cover common misconceptions and mistakes that can lead to feeling frustrated or like exposure "doesn't work" for you.
